Church School
kids at the Sunday School

Church School for children 4 years old to 8th grade takes place during the 10 am service on Sundays during the school year. When children arrive at church, the go directly to their classrooms, and return to church with their teachers after class to join the congregation for communion. The Church School curriculum, Godly Play, for pre-K through fifth grade is a wonder-filled set of stories based on the bible and the seasons and rituals of the church. It has been adapted age-appropriately for three classrooms.  The middle school curriculum is a lectionary and story based program developed by Christine Perris, Epiphany member, teacher, and program coordinator for 6-8th grade.  It combines discussion and activity to help engage this unique age group in the sacred stories of our tradition.

Children attend worship with the whole congregations four times per year on the special baptismal Sundays (Epiphany, Easter, Pentecost, and All Saints), so that they can participate with the whole congregation in welcoming it’s newest members into the Christian community. Six times per year, all of the Godly Play children come together for a combined worship service – The Feast – where they offer prayers together, hear a story, and do a special activity or social ministry project.
