The Foyer Dinner Groups are informal groups of parishioners who get together monthly to enjoy each other’s company. There is no agenda or plan- it’s a time for fun and food.
The members take turns hosting the group in their homes. If someone’s home is small, the church lounge can be made available to the group. Some groups have enjoyed picnics or meeting at a local restaurant. Generally, the host provides the main course while the other members fill in the rest of the meal such as bread, salad, dessert, appetizer, etc.
The groups are usually put together randomly to encourage familiarity throughout the parish, although sometimes groups are formed around commonalities, such as parents with children of the same age. This is a great way to meet and get to know those you might not have a chance to visit with otherwise. The groups are formed in the fall and meet for one year and then new groups are arranged. A kickoff potluck is usually held in the parish hall and the groups are announced then. Foyer is a fun way to meet others and enjoy an evening of good talk and terrific meals.
